New year and resolutions

We hope that everyone had an enjoyable festive break and is ready to hit the ground running for a prosperous 2019. If you missed a trick with the Christmas ‘must haves’ in 2018 whether it be Christmas Eve Boxes and Naughty Elves – just when you had stocked up on unicorns; or rainbow trees when your bauble collection was getting nicely colour co-ordinated – then don’t miss Harrogate Christmas & Gift in less than two weeks’ time where exhibitors will be giving you a heads up on what consumers will be hitting the shops for next year.

Don’t forget to register for the show – and pass this on to new colleagues who may not have attended before. www.harrogatefair.com

Delivery promise

Charles TaylorCharles Taylor is launching its new retail brochure at the show with over 150 products continuing the company’s growth.

With UK-made garden products, Charles Taylor has invested heavily throughout the close season ensuring stock is available all year round for when retailers need it.

Richard Ball, director said: “Throughout the 2018 season we achieved tremendous delivery times and plans for 2019 are to deliver within a week of ordering with no out of stock. In our industry we recognise that stock availability is key and with all of our products made by ourselves in the UK, we have the advantage of not having to wait for shippers. We are in an industry similar to ice-cream sellers – when the heat is on, we have to react, and with measures and investment in place we are confident that we can achieve.”

Forest protection

With environmental issues at the forefront of many consumer spending decisions, Premier Decorations is delighted to announce its award of FSC® Chain of Custody certification, demonstrating continued chain of custody from forest to consumer.

ShaPremier Decorationszad Kaleem, quality assurance manager for Premier Decorations, explains: “There is widespread concern for the sustainability of the world’s forests and when consumers see the FSC® logo on a product, they can buy with confidence that they are helping to ensure our forests are alive for generations to come. Premier’s accreditation means that our customers can request that the FSC® branding be included on their products.

“Whilst this doesn’t mean that all of the products we currently sell will become FSC® certified; we are now able to source and offer it for those customers who require their products to be FSC® certified.”
